C&D seemed to have nothing but praise for it back in 2004. I can’t say I’ve ever really thought about them, but a 6-speed manual attached to a revvy engine in a car with lots of toys sounds nice.

I’d be going up in mileage but eh, it’s only 108k on a Honda.
sm70- why not Duesenberg?

I can’t say that I would ever choose one personally because they just don’t excite me at all, but with that being said you get quite a good deal of fun and comfort in an economical, reliable, and reasonably priced car.

The prior gen ate through torque converters/transmissions.

Looks like a solid buy that would treat you well for the long term.

That was the TL I think. The transmissions scared me away from TLs when I ended up buying the M3.

Oh yeah, for some reason my brain parsed “TSX” as “TL”

Those were assorted V6 automatic cars. This is a manual 4-cylinder.

I’d keep my eyes open for a TL Type S. They’re supposed to be phenomenal.

Right, for whatever reason I read it as TL, not TSX. That gen TSX looks a lot like the third gen TL.

I bought an ‘05 less than two years ago with 70,000 miles on it. Sadly, it’s an auto, but I have no complaints about the transmission as it shifts very smoothly, unlike the TLs of that era I also test drove. I have really enjoyed the car and it’s a comfy, attractive place to sit on my commute three days a week. I like the rev-happy engine, but better than that is the tight handling. I still love the styling of these cars, which is why I got a gen 1 over a newer gen 2. Downsides: takes premium fuel and there’s not aux input on ‘04-’05. As for fuel economy, you can get above 30 on the highway (I drive 80 on the interstate), and I consistently average 26 in mixed driving. Oh, one major downside to me, but an upside to you, is that for some reason the value on these has really dropped since I bought mine. I paid a fair price for mine at $11,500, but now the car is apparently only valued at $5,500-6,500. Let me know if you have any questions.

More expensive or will have way more miles or else I’d be snatching one up asap.

I really like these! I think the 2004's have some issues with the heater and a few other things, but they should still be a pretty safe bet. There’s a guy that has a 2005 TSX with 522,000 miles on it, and it still drives well. It’s still on the original engine and transmission, too!

I was curious about whether or not it had an aux input. I was really hoping it and because I pretty much refuse to put an aftermarket radio in. Oh well.
Sounds like they’re excellent little cars. Maybe I should’ve looked into them sooner.

Those are really solid, I’d watch out for shitty mods and history of abuse.
Going up in mileage , haha. I’m looking at this .

There are after-market aux inputs that hide behind the flip-open tray and you just trail a cord out. Certainly cleaner than replacing with an after-market. I think the company Grom makes it, and they even provide a how-to vid on installation for the TSX.

If it was a Tacoma, it would cost even more with that many miles.

Doesn’t Andrew Collins own one of these? I believe he referred to it as a boring commuter. A 260-whatever HP luxury manual sedan? Life must be good.

It’s the only Acura I’ve liked since the death of the RSX. The original TSX is a brilliant car and got rave reviews when it debuted.
And I’m not sure Honda has put much effort into improving their 4cyl engines since this came out. It was the best four you could buy new 10 years ago.
The only thing it was missing was a wagon variant, which they offered in Europe.

That’s a good car. There are a lot of good cars out there from 2002-2005. Ford had the Focus SVT. Acura had this AND the RSX. VW had the forgotten GTI/GLI with the 24V VR6. Mazda had the Protege5. Toyota had the Celica GTS, I think. All except the Mazda had close ratio 6 speeds, but it might have been the best driver of the bunch. All are terribly fun to hoon.

Yeah I know, lots of options though and that seems to be what they’re going for. Also one owner and just had a bunch of work done.
Plus it’s already got a Ranch Hand. I’m getting one of those no matter what I get.
